Jason A. Yoder

I’m Jason Yoder, an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. I teach courses in object-oriented development, bio-inspired artificial intelligence, and web programming, and I run the EASY Lab (Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems at Yoder’s Lab), where undergraduates and I explore questions at the intersection of biology, evolution, and computation.

My path to computer science started with a fascination with the human mind—first as a philosophical question, then as a scientific one. That curiosity led me through mathematics and computer science at Goshen College, a PhD in Computer Science and Cognitive Science at Indiana University, and eventually to a career where I get to share that curiosity with students every day.
